JAMES * NORRINGTON

32 | FORMER COMMODORE
Ah yes, our beloved Commodore. Only he's resigned from that position, and now he doesn't have more to his name then his cherished military jacket and sword. James Norrington really has hit the bottom, hasn't he? After brazenly sailing his men into the hurricane in his blind furious attempt to capture one notorious Jack Sparrow, the once dashing nobleman took refuge on the dirty island of Tortuga after the Dauntless was wrecked in the hurricane. And on Tortuga he still remains, nursing a cold whiskey night after night in the back of a tavern, scowling over the lowly inhabitants of this wretched place. Drowned in bitterness, each night he mulls over his ideas of revenge for the man who ruined his life. Gone is the distinguished, collected military man the town of Port Royal had come to know him as. In his place stands a vengeful, angry man, riddled with guilt and heartache and nothing much left to live for.
When it comes to friends, James doesn't have many at the moment. A shame, really, because underneath the gritty exterior James gives off currently, he is quite the loyal and good man. He's just currently tortured by memories of his past, and can give off an intimidating/wary presence. Most stay clear of him. Perhaps some may try and befriend him out of pity, those who live on Tortuga who aren't here to drink and fight and earn dirty money.you put me on a shelf and kept me for yourself »
you cut me down to size and opened up my eyes » No doubt James has made/has plenty of enemies. Enemy #1 being Captain Jack Sparrow, but it is quite certain that many other pirates hate him because of James' previous career. And most of Tortuga's crowd as well. He spends his nights picking drunken fights and cursing at any who remind me of Sparrow, and thus is not well-liked on the island.
well that's where i belong, and you belong with me » As far as romance goes, James is still hung up on the only woman whose ever captured all of his heart: Miss Elizabeth Swann. Most of the actions he's made recently have been to please her, even though her affections are held for a certain blacksmith-turned-pirate. Even though James know Elozabeth's heart lies elsewhere, he cannot help the feelings he still feels for her. He cannot shake them no matter how hard he tries. Even the wenches in Tortuga can't get James to budge. He flirts occasionally (most often when drunk), but nothing ever happens after that because the thoughts of Governor's daughter keep floating back into his mind, haunting him in his misery. plot?
let's go for it! [: I'm up for a lot. Naturally though, James' future is pretty set in stone thanks to the site plot. But that doesn't mean little things can change. Perhaps some of Tortuga's more decent crowd have struck up odd sorts of friendships with him? I doubt many would be romantically attracted to him, since he's a bit...off right now, but who knows! So we can work something out I'm sure, but if you have any ideas throw them at me!
