It was amazing to what lengths she would go to try to absolve an idea in her mind.
Genevieve realized this as she stood, unsteadily, at the mouth of the cavern, a fierce look of determination glimmering in the depths of her eyes. It was a miracle that she had made her way out on the rocks this far without falling into the ocean, especially in such an impromptu fashion. Had she planned this out better, she certainly wouldn’t have been wearing a summer dress and high heels. The sheer force of the wind almost made her feel like it would sweep her into the violent tide. She had less time to think, and was forced only to concentrate on staying balanced upon the oblique boulder that jutted from the sea like a finger. Her hair blew into her face, and she could feel the cool sea breeze on her skin, delicately coating with thin layers of liquid salt. As Genevieve gazed into the deep black of the cave, she began to wonder if her mother noticed she was gone too long.
“I’m only going out for ze fresh air,” she assured. “I will be back before ze sun sets, Maman.”
The blue of the sky was beginning to dissipate away into a rosey orange, and the darkness of the cave that seemed inconsequential became much more daunting in the very beginning of twilight. Had her curiosity not been burning so passionately in her brain, she would have already turned back and headed home. But she needed to know if the rumors were true.
Genevieve bent down shakily, and carefully began reaching across to the next boulder. She took a moment or two to gather her bearings before making a small leap across, but just missed the trajectory by a fraction of an inch and plunged waist down into the sea water. She yelped out at the biting cold of it, and held on desperately to the boulder so that she wouldn’t get carried out into the sea. Eventually, Genevieve was able to climb upon to the rock and made sure she was balanced again before she furiously tore her shoes off and threw them into the water.
“Blast zese damned things!” she exclaimed bitterly, glaring. With an exasperated sigh she turned her head toward the cavern again. She was just one step away from being on solid ground again. That was all she needed to surmount. Surely it wouldn’t be that hard. Though, the ocean could sometimes be a dangerous thing.
But that wasn’t the only dangerous thing rumored to be at this place.
When you got out into Port Royal enough, you always heard the whispers. Ever since the attack back a year or so ago, pirates had become a major topic of conversation. Everyone was afraid for their lives, even with the assurance of the Port Royal military that they had things under control, and stories began to pop up. Sometimes the stories seemed too insane to be true… About pirates that couldn’t die, about pirates that had organized, about pirates that seemed to defy the nature of life itself and turn it upside down…
Eventually, word got around that it was possible that there were pirates hiding away under their very noses.
People had theorized that the old abandoned caves near Port Royal were a hiding place for them. It seemed like a ridiculous notion – why would they hide somewhere near the Port Royal military? It didn’t seem possible. But the seed of wonder was planted in Genevieve’s mind when she first heard the rumors, and since then it had been allowed to grow and flourish. Her mind had pondered upon the idea for many a sleepless night and her imagination had wandered so far into fantasy that she could barely think upon anything else. So, Genevieve decided that she needed to know. She realized coming in that it was most definitely improbable that pirates really did hide out here… but, it was possible.
Wasn’t it?
Genevieve had taken more precaution in her next movements. Her dress was soaked from her hips to her feet, and thusly it made it harder for her to move. She crawled onto all fours and reached over to the solid rock adjacent to the boulder she was planted on, and slowly reached one leg over, and then the other, until she was on the other side, safe and sound.
Well, until she needed to go back. But that would be something she would figure out when she got to it.
Genevieve rose to her feet, mouth slightly agape as she gazed into the piercing darkness. Black as pitch, she could barely see a few feet in front of her. With a small sigh, she wrung out the water from her dress-skirt and shook what she could off. When she felt a few pounds lighter, she walked forward a few steps, and gazed around curiously. It was quiet, albeit the crashing waves and the whistling of the wind between the rocks. And, unwittingly, she began to frown. Her disappointment fell heavily in her stomach, and she began to wonder if there was any point to coming out here in the first place.
“Hello?” she called out into the darkness. She waited a few moments.
No response.
Genevieve frowned deeply again, fidgeting with the hem of her waist. “Zese silly rumors, ‘ow stupid of me to thing zey were true…”

I'VE GOT A JAR OF DIRT, AND GUESS WHAT INSIDE IT ?! He rolled his eyes. This was unbelievably, annoyingly, very much unnecesary. Why did he had to hide out? For the love of his own boots, he was Captain Jack Sparrow. He didn't need to hide from the Royal Navy. Well, actually, he did, but he easily go out with a nice, funny disguise, but oh no, Mr Gibbs had somehow tricked him to stay in the cavern. Jack was still wondering how he did it, but he had done very sneakily, leaving the great captain inside the damn cavern and a word from Gibbs that they would be back to get him, when they were done fetching the 10 barrels of rum. Jack wanted to remind that 20 was fairly small amount, and 10 was just way too small, but his crew had mystically disappeared after while he had turned his back. " Bloody pirates." Jack heard himself mumble again and sat down on a rock.
The caverns were cold and dark. Not the most best spot for the captain, but since he had no other place to go and he didn't exactly want to deal with the Royal Navy, again, it was just better if he sat there, quietly. But Jack Sparrow had no patience to do that. He had no patience to sit there and do absolutely nothing. And without rum, how was he going to survive now? No more trusting into damn pirates, Jack reminded himself. He sighed and looked around him. He heard the sea and saw the entry of the cavern looming a little further away from him. He wanted to be sailing, drinking rum in the sun and pillage. But oh no, he was stuck in a cave that had no rum nor any fun to do. Not even a monkey to shoot. The captain got up and started walking deeper to the caverns until he heard a voice. At first, he thought that he was imagining things, since it wouldn't be the first time. But when he heard the person mutter something again, Jack squinted his eyes and slowly pulled out his cutler. His boots, unfortunately made a noise against the rocks and when his brown eyes spotted the one who had let out the hello, his head tilted a bit. A girl. A woman, to be exact. Well, maybe there was a hope of entertainment after all. A smirk arrived to his rugged face and he pointed his cutler, just in case at her. " What ye doing here, miss?" He asked with an amused tone.

It was a hopeless venture from the start, and remained thusly as she stood, alone, waiting for someone who wasn’t there to show up. If Genevieve hadn’t been so stubborn and wishful, she would have left. She would have admitted to herself that it was all just a fluke and pretend it never happened. But something inside her forced her to stay, gazing helplessly into the cave. Please do not prove me a fool… she thought desperately. Genevieve began to shiver a little from the cold, as the seabreeze began to blow by and freeze the water she was drenched in. In retrospect, coming out here so suddenly was a bad idea. It was a very, very bad idea.
Genevieve turned her head back toward Port Royal, the small rooftops being all that was visible in the distance. She knew she’d have a long walk to go, and her parents would be awfully worried, but now that she was stuck here, waiting for an apparition, it didn’t seem to matter all that much how angry they would become at the state of her dress, her missing shoes, and her blaring lateness. Genevieve supposed she could just lie, and since she was a good liar, that wasn’t such a bad idea.
In her musings, the faint crackle of rock could be heard. A footstep. If she wasn’t crazy, which wasn’t a far off idea, then that was most definitely a footstep. She began to turn her head again, and was most definitely surprised when she was face with the very tip of a sword in close proximity to her person, and rugged, dirty man holding the other end.
What ye be doin’ here, miss?
Now Genevieve was sure this was a terrible idea.
She raised her chin a little, unwittingly raising an eyebrow, as she brought her hands in front of her and clasped them together. “I could ask ze very same of you,” she retorted calmly, a small smirk tugging on her lips. From the very look of him, Genevieve could guess the worst. He seemed to be a pirate, but then again, one couldn’t assume. But if he was, Genevieve surely did receive what she had asked for. But she probably shouldn’t have asked for it. One did not go looking for pirates, very dangerous people, unarmed and alone. You couldn’t be sure what outlaws like them were capable of. But, oddly enough, Genevieve wasn’t frightened in the least bit. If she wasn’t mistaken, she could feel her stomach turn in anticipation… almost excitement.

I'VE GOT A JAR OF DIRT, AND GUESS WHAT INSIDE IT ?! Jack was fully aware that his charms worked on every girl no matter what. His charms either worked in a good way or in a bad way. Most of the time it was the bad way, but there were those ones who actually were gullible enough for him and they absorbed every word, ever tale the man told them, which half of the time were completely nonsense. Like that one time, Jack told a story of a geezer who one day just popped. Yes, literally popped front of their eyes. Sound odd enough? Well, that's Jack for you. He once again looked at the young woman and squinted his eyes bit trying to come up something witty for a response. He still held his cutler near her, so if she wouldn't try anything stupid. Women were unpredictable. " I asked you first." Jack then said smirking and eyed her even more cautiously. She had a bit of a French accent there and Jack never seemed to trust on the French ones. " Do tell me, dear. That accent of yours. Not exactly British, now is it?" He asked sneakily.
If Gibbs and the crew didn't show soon, Jack had only one option. Leave the girl. Even if she was slightly interesting and for once not in a Jack-kind of a way, but more because she had something, Captain Sparrow couldn't put his finger on. Or actually mind on. Which ever. She looked more of an upper class, spoiled brat and we all remember who this reminded to the great captain. That's right, Miss Elizabeth Swann. Jack gave a small, rather uncomfortable shrug and lowered her cutler a bit. She didn't seem like hiding a pistol or a cutler underneath that body of hers, but he didn't want to get hurt either. The last thing he needed was to get caught in Port Royal, the Pearl gone and no rum. No rum was no good and no rum meant..a hell for the captain.

The elation gathering in the pit of her stomach never wavered. In fact, she could feel it heighten with every second that passed in front of this man. Even with his cutlass pointed at her, she didn’t feel the natural sense of danger she was supposed to feel if she were a normal person. Genevieve raised her eyebrow, mimicking his motion, and tilted her head. He seemed much more uneasy than she was… which was strange. He was the one with the weapon. She was entirely unarmed.
I could ask the same of you.
To this, Genevieve merely shrugged her shoulders. She pursed her lips forward, before tracing her tongue across her bottom lip sheepishly. “I’m afraid I cannot allow you that information without knowing you better,” she began, a small mischievous glint in her eyes. “You see, it would be quite unwise of me to bear myself to someone zat ‘as a sword pointed to me.” Genevieve bit her lip in a nervous fashion, and, suddenly, out of a curiously placed boldness, she raised two fingers and slowly pointed the tip of the blade away from her.
It was probably a stupid move, but for some reason she wanted to establish that she wasn’t frightened by him in the least bit.
Genevieve couldn’t help but sigh helplessly when he mentioned her accent. It was the only real thing about herself that bothered her. “No, it ez not,” she answered, frowning a little. She fell silent for a moment, concentrating hard before she began to speak again with a cute little british accent:
“But I believe it is harder to hold this accent than it is to make myself understood in English.”

I'VE GOT A JAR OF DIRT, AND GUESS WHAT INSIDE IT ?!
Jack wasn't sure how to react to this girl, so instead of being all threatening, he decided to lower that cutler of his even more and now it rested on his side, while his eyes, cautiously looked at her. He could only hope she wasn't going to surprise her with a pistol underneath something. The captain tilted his head and smirked. " You're absolutely right, miss." Jack said. " But now, I'm not threatening you with anything start rambling." He eyed her whole appearance and knew that this either ended badly, like Jack getting thrown back in the jail or in the good way, when he would escape with cargo filled with rum. And of course Amaya, who he would have to pick up from Tortuga before leaving anywhere. That woman, was Jack's new crew member and well, Jack did have a small soft spot for her even though he didn't show it. " No actually, don't,. I don't like rambling on." Jack said then and smirked. " Just out of curiosity, what are you doing here? Getting yourself into trouble, are we?" The pirate asked arching one eyebrow to her. She reminded so much of Elisabeth that it made Jack almost shiver.
That accent was indeed French and Jack took one step back from her, being cautious. He had learned not to trust in the women, but then again, she was pretty enough, that maybe Jack would make a compromise. No, he wouldn't try to woo her, it was more that he would let her speak than him running away from the scene. Running away he did way to often. Those eyes of his glanced at the mouth of the cave and he started to plan his escape, if it was necessary. Or he didn't have a chance leaving the caves, he had to go deeper and hope that Gibbs would find him. Once again he shuddered little. Forever trapped in the caves of Port Royal. Now that was a nightmare. But one thing that did bother him. She seemed not to be afraid of him since it was clear that he was a pirate and she with her pretty dress some higher class girl, probably someone who had a rich daddy and lived off from him. " Aren't you scared of me? I mean, let's face it, I am rather scary." He grinned maliciously.
