And eventually, when Norrington brings the Heart to Beckett, in return, Beckett will give the Dauntless back to him. <3 As to what really happened to it, I haven't thought that all the way through yet. Probably something along the lines of it being hit rather hard, and it seemed to have sunk, but really didn't.
This thread is basically here to just clear up a few things about the plot and basic things around the forum. I'll add in as much as I can think of now, and if you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me, or ask your question in the FAQ board. <3
First off the site is in fact, AU, and we featuer liquid time. Meaning anything and everything can happen to the characters, and your character can participate in more then one thread at the one time. I prefer alternate universes to the usual strict universes, because it allows more creativity on your part.
The plot starts off right after Beckett sends Will off to find Jack, the compass, and Jones' heart. That being said, any canon characters do have a specific place to be. Like Will most likely won't be in Port Royal. Beckett will be in Port Royal, and Elizabeth is locked in a cell. Other then that, once the plot takes off, canons can end up almost anywhere.
CANONS DO NOT HAVE TO DIE.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. Norrington doesn't have to die. Or Weatherby, or anyone for that matter, or you can kill off your canon if you want. Though killing major canons can be over ruled by the admin. So make sure to watch that. <3
As for the HMS Dauntless. In the normal universe, the Dauntless was destroyed by a hurricane while Norrington was pursuing the Pearl yet again. Norrington felt disgraced, resigned from the Royal Navy and returned the jolly ol' bloke we see in the second movie. However, I've always felt that he just had too much bad happen to him, and for no good reason really. I mean, all he did was love Elizabeth, right? So, in the alternate universe I wanted there to be some good for him, but I need to do it without changing the plot too much. Yes, the Dauntless has been thought
Civilians are perhaps my favorite group on this site. Because they can change the most. Civilians are anything and everything that isn't Royal Navy or Pirate-y. BUT, they can become either one of those during their growth process on the site. For example, at the moment, Will and Elizabeth are both civilians, but we know that they end up as pirates eventually. Pirates will more then likely never become Royal Navy, and Royal Navy... Well, they can go either way as well. Discharged into a Civilian. Or like our jolly Sparrow, disgraced into Piracy.
We do not have to follow the movie plot to the tee. You may notice that another part of the site is the addition of other pirates we've never met who are also after Jones' heart. So we will have the plot of the movies, we have sub-plots, and more complex plots, and plots that don't make any sense. And site events, and all kinds of different things that will probably drive even the most sane, completely bonkers.
But that's what we're all about here at WS. Being bonkers. <3
