Welcome to St. Vladimir’s Academy, school to the young Moroi and Dhampir’s of the United States. St. Vladimir’s is one of the few schools in the States that are seen as highly prestigious to humans and as an everyday school to the vampires of the world. Moroi and Dhampir children attend St. Vlad’s for education and for safety. The Moroi attend to learn like an average student would as well as learn to navigate the tough social structure that seems to hold the group together. The Dhampirs are at school to learn to protect Moroi as well as learn a bit, but the combat is the most important part of their training. Dhampirs either become Guardians or disgraces, most at St. Vlad’s strive for the first option.
Now at St. Vladimir’s things haven’t changed much since the murder of Queen Tatiana. Actually 10 years have passed and the only things that have changed are that Rose Hathaway was not charged with murder and treason, Vasilissa Dragomir found her step brother and gained her spot on the council therefore overthrowing the Age Law, and Dimitri Belikov is now an accepted member of Dhampir society. So nothing has really changed in those 10 years, which is bad and good. The Strigoi are still at large and are a cause of fear in Moroi society, but still the Dhampirs are there to protect them. The issue of Moroi using magic in battle is still a controversial matter, but slowly making head way.
There is something that is different, something that has changed in these last years that is a big stir in the vampiric world. The Spirit users have started to emerge even though there aren't as many of them as the more popular elements of wind, water, earth, and fire. They have become a hot commodity, among the Moroi-Dhampir world as well as the Strigoi. It seems that there is something thrilling about a Spirit users blood that makes the Strigoi crave it. Now the Spirit users are being hunted not only for their skills in turning Strigoi back to normal, but for their blood. Students at the school have learned to resent these kids, getting more protection even if they aren't royal. The outside world wants to see what they are capable, use them beyond their breaking point. Now the Striogoi are after them.
Something is coming and everyone best be ready when it does.
